Genevieve Aichele is a performing artist, director, storyteller and playwright who has worked internationally and throughout the US since 1978. She currently serves as Artistic Director of New Hampshire Theatre Project in Portsmouth, NH, teaches public speaking and community leadership at the UNH Thompson School, and offers coaching and professional development services to individual, corporate and community clients. Genevieve has written numerous scripts for young people as well as several docu-dramas, including Neighborhoods for the city of Portsmouth and Dreaming Again, commissioned by the NH Humanities Council in 2011. Professional roles include Sister Aloysius in Doubt, Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirit, Dorothea in Eleemosynary, and her original one-woman show Resurrection. She also tours with musician Randy Armstrong in World Tales. Genevieve’s directing credits include Waiting for Godot, Amadeus, Mother Courage, The Crucible, I Am My Own Wife, Twelfth Night, Hamlet, Clara’s Dream, and the 125th Anniversary production of Caste at The Music Hall. She has won numerous awards, including the 2001 NH Governors’ Award for Arts Education and the 2002 New England Conference Award for Outstanding Achievement in American Theatre. Genevieve is a juried Roster Artist/Trainer for VSA-Arts International, and works with all ages and abilities. AIE residencies include playwriting, storytelling, acting, directing, story theatre and docu-drama.
