Jewel B Davis

Jewel Davis is a theater artist who has performed, directed, and choreographed productions for children and adults. She holds a BA in Theatre from the University of New Hampshire and an MA in Theater Movement from Wesleyan University. She is presently a candidate for the MFA in Writing at Vermont College, majoring in Creative Nonfiction. Jewel toured the country with Looking Glass Theatre and Chamber Theatre Repertory and the British Isles with New England Repertory Company. She has performed classical repertory at Theatre At Monmouth, was "on-camera" at the International Film and TV Institute. Jewel is artistic director of The Classics Company and past artistic director for Looking In Teen Theatre of Hartford, Alpha Teen Theatre in Manchester, and for the theater/dance program at Upward Bound UNH. She is the recipient of many grants and awards including a Governor's Grant for Excellence in Education. Jewel performed for two weeks in Florida in January, 2002, at the WordBridge Playwrights Lab. She was awarded the 2002 Spotlight Critics Choice Award (the "Spottie") for Best Performance by an Actress in a Play. She has written a play entitled Shadow Dancing. Jewel teaches Writing and Communication at NH Community Technical College in Stratham.
