Huey
Filmmaker / Video Artist / Animator

AIE

In Huey's animation, video production, and media literacy workshops, students are involved in creative thinking, problem solving, group cooperation, and technical skills. Students are motivated to communicate with their peers and community in telling their stories through the movies they make. They learn script writing, research, camera operation, sound recording, animation artwork, acting for the camera, interview technique, narration, digital video editing, and video magic. Movie topics vary from the local community: its people and places, cultural heritage, folklore, and history to youth issues, original stories, and curriculum subjects. Residencies end with a gala public premiere.

Programs offered: Lecture-demonstrations; workshops; master classes; film/video screenings; school and community residencies

Populations served: All

Availability: Statewide, year round

Fees: $600/day plus travel, lodging and per diem expenses, includes use of all video equipment. When possible using your institutionís own equipment and learning on that is the best route to go.
