Haunting violin and whale calls... Inuit legends from the arctic night…magical sounds of the Scottish highlands... lively songs and workshops for all ages... Steve offers programs which appeal to many different audiences. An award-winning musician, author and storyteller, he has delighted children and adults throughout the U.S. and Europe. Venues range from schools and town halls to international folk festivals and The Kennedy Center. Credits include Artist Fellowships, his nationally acclaimed Celtic Celebration CDs, and five fiddling championships. His latest book, A Symphony of Whales, received five national book awards. His Trees of Life CD received a Parents' Choice Gold Award. Beyond his solo work, Steve also appears with symphony orchestras, with his Celtic/World ensemble The Night Heron Consort, and with Odds Bodkin as the duo Wellspring (see separate listings or visit www.NightHeron.com).

Programs offered: Adult and family concerts; seasonal and holiday programs; author visits and artist residencies; school assemblies K-12; A Symphony of Whales (solo or with orchestra); Songs & Tales from Around the World nature concerts; creative workshops on music, writing and storytelling; parent/educator workshops; book readings; master classes; fundraisers; commissioned work. For larger shows, Steve is also available with Kent Allyn on bass and piano. Call for packets on specific shows and workshops, sample video, or CD. Specialized performances and workshops may be tailored for schools and colleges, libraries, and historical societies. Call to discuss residency options.

Availability: All areas, year round

Fees: Full Concerts: $1,000-$2,000; Author Visits, Workshops and School Assemblies: from $600; Artist Residencies: vary with length and program. Please call to discuss specifics.
